Teachers Empowerment Programme

Learning is timeless and unfathomable, and in this ever-evolving world, meticulous refinement of and expertise on any skill are mandatory to survive, thrive, and have a quality life be it cooking, driving, paragliding, or computing. As educators are envisioned as central pillars of reform, the staff at The Sagar School pursue the ongoing learning paths of elevated knowledge, innovation, mastery, and configuration of the latest pedagogies to ensure consistent and enlightened intellectual growth of young learners.

The Teacher Empowerment Programme, tailored on the guidelines of the National Education Policy 2020, is launched at the onset of each term of an academic year, and aims to invigorate and equip our educators with enhanced skills and renewed motivation. Its core objectives are multifaceted, focusing on a culture of continuous professional development, preparation and innovation within our faculty. The programme seeks to strengthen pedagogical expertise of the teachers and create space for growth, dialogue, and reflection, enabling teachers to evolve continuously while feeling valued and supported.

The Spring & Summer Term

1. Cambridge International Education Masterclass Workshop 

School staff, Ms Shatarupa Mahadani and Ms Arpita Sharma attended a session, ‘Cambridge International Education Masterclass Workshop’ on 14th February at Mayoor School, Jaipur. The workshop was piloted by the resource person, Dr. Akash Raut, Academic Advisor, South Asia, and in-depth discussions were held regarding Cambridge Curriculum and Culture. The attendees also explored multiple ways to dive into parent outreach and effective uses of different Outreach Tools and Strategies.

2. Teacher Empowerment Programme

A six-day Teacher Empowerment Programme (TEP) was facilitated by The Sagar School for its staff from 24th- 29th March on campus. The session commenced with the Vice Principal spelling out the importance of the TEP.

The Principal apprised the gathering of the next three-year journey of The Sagar School - its improvement plan, innovating new approaches, and sustaining and achieving success.

(A) Technology Integration

The Senior Academic Coordinator briefed the school staff about the advanced functionalities of tools within Microsoft Word and Excel to empower them in streamlining the digital documents. The ERP Coordinator detailed the gathering about the key features and updates of ‘Gyan Sagar Portal’ for effective use in uploading the data of the students on the Portal.  

(B) Cyber Security and Cyber Hygiene Habits

The ICT Department piloted a session on Cyber Security and Cyber Hygiene Habits, wherein it emphasised how individuals can protect themselves from falling into digital traps and shared valuable inputs on safeguarding web accounts and online safety.

(C) Behavioural Problems and Learning Issues in Children

The Behaviour Counsellors spearheaded a session on identifying behavioural problems and learning issues in children. Assisted by group activities they shared with the educators the multi-disciplinary approach involving teachers, counsellors, and parents to recognise and address challenges faced by students.

Sharing Best Practices

Various Departments conducted sessions on ‘Sharing Best Practices’, where teachers highlighted different pedagogical approaches emphasising audio and visual aids, enhancing classroom learning and teaching effectiveness. 

3. Cambridge School Conference South Asia 2025

The venerated global summit, Cambridge School Conference South Asia 2025, was convened on the 27th & 28th of March at Taj Surajkund, Faridabad. The Vice Principal, Ms Tanu Tiwari, and IGCSE Coordinator, Mr J. Jeya  Kumar, along with other educators across South Asia, attended the conference. Luminaries, like  Ms Abigail Barnett, Director, Cambridge 3-19 Curriculum and Dr Akash Raut, Head-Academic Advisor, South Asia, Ms. Sue Brindley, Professor, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, deliberated in detail, the issues that deter the learning and the strategies to encompass and promote the ever evolving pedagogies in a world subjected to volatile changes.

Extensive panel discussions were held on ’Thriving in Uncertainty: Making Learners Ready for the Rapidly Changing World,’ ‘Bringing AI to the classroom: Practical Strategies for Educators and Learners’ and many more to promote dialogue among schools and universities that are working in silos, to encourage pedagogies where the learner is inspired to think and create new questions to facilitate learning by understanding and not by cramming. 

The Autumn Term

Teacher Empowerment Programme – July 2025

Taking forward the commitment to a consistent flow of learning at TSS, a three-day, 2nd-4th July, Teacher Empowerment Programme has been orchestrated on campus.

Day 1

(A) Infrastructural Developments at TSS

The programme commenced with the address of the Vice-Principal, wherein she briefed the gathering on the infrastructural developments undertaken during the summer break to enhance the growth-friendly environment of the school.

(B) Analysis & Reflection on Board Results 2024-25

A detailed session was spearheaded by the Principal, comprising a presentation of the data-driven analysis complemented by numerous graphs and radar charts to infer the Board Results 2024-25. The insightful session offered rationalised guidelines for the educators to strategise and customise the pedagogical approaches to achieve optimum results for the upcoming Board Exams, 2025-26.

(C) Career Counselling Session

The Career Counselling team, La Mentoraa, organised a skill enhancement session. She apprised the staff about the fundamentals of how to compose a quality ‘Letter of Recommendation’. Assisted by hands-on activity, the participants identified the strengths, like, anecdotes, skills, and aptitude, that feature in a premium LOR and framed an LOR reflecting their understanding of the letter.

Day 2-3

(A) Artifacts and Identities: Unveiling the Essence of Educators

A reflective and enriching session was conducted by the Principal in Rosemary Hall for the staff to unveil the essence of educators to further strengthen a cohesive teaching community grounded in collaboration and understanding. Every teacher shared their story of the artefact that they had brought along and reflected on how it symbolised their ‘inner mosaic’.

(B) Session on CBSE Guidelines for Board Exams for Class X

An orientation session was organised by the CBSE Coordinator of the school about the officially released guidelines for the structured execution of the two-tier Board exams for Class X from 2026 onwards. The queries of the staff were addressed and comprehensively resolved during the interactive session.

(C) CBSE Capacity Building Workshop on the Use of AI in the Classroom

A marathon session on the ‘Capacity Building of Educators on the Use of AI in the Classroom’ was spearheaded by CBSE on campus.The resource people, Ms Sunayana Nagpal, Principal, Alpha International Academy, Jaipur and Mr Naveen Kumar Sharma, PGT Maths, SLD Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Jaipur, apprised the educators in detail on how to incorporate Artificial Intelligence in education as a tool for enhancing teaching, learning, assessment, and administration at schools. Assisted with hands-on activities, numerous educator-friendly AI apps and sites, their potential to improve educational outcomes, and the associated concerns, such as ethical use and data privacy were shared with the attendees. Educators from DPS, Rewari and Modern Public School, Bhiwari, also attended the insightful session.
