At The Sagar School, we have always endorsed a holistic approach that balances academics, extracurricular activities, and character development. The most effective education emphasises experiential learning, where students engage in hands-on projects, group activities, and real-world applications of theoretical knowledge. Boarding schools have the unique advantage of immersing students in a 24/7 learning environment, fostering independence, discipline, and community living skills. Our spectacular 165-acre campus, under 2 hours drive from Delhi, is a vibrant lab, offering unlimited hands-on opportunities for learning.
Educators play a crucial role in this system, serving as mentors and guides rather than mere instructors. Personalised attention, small class sizes, and a supportive atmosphere enable students to flourish academically and emotionally. Moreover, a diverse curriculum that includes arts, sports, and life skills ensures well-rounded development. We believe in empowering students to have a say via consultation, committees, and elected representation, to develop confidence and a ‘can-do’ mindset for life.
Cultural diversity and social outreach enrich the learning experience, promoting empathy and global awareness. We are proud of our growing roster of top-tier affiliations such as Round Square, IAYP, and Spic Macay. By nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and empathy, we aim to produce not only academically skilled students but also socially responsible and emotionally intelligent individuals.
The majestic site of Kaziranga’s elephants patrolling the wilderness of the sanctuary makes me bow to all the allomothers out there working relentlessly to raise the calves into well- skilled, socially responsible adults of the herd to carry on the legacy of the titanic mammals – elephants, known for their intelligence, emotional depth, wisdom, strength and for being catalytic in shaping the entire ecosystems…
Allomother, a term coined in 1975 by the evolutionary biologist Edward O. Wilson, is etched in my heart, for it is so simple and yet so profound. It pairs the Greek word “allo-” (‘other than’) with “mothering” to describe the care of offspring by any group member other than the biological parents and family members. If there is another synonym for The Sagar School, it is ‘allomother’. In her vast expanse of green bower-165 acres- Sagarians play, fall, rise and learn to better themselves, to make their fellow beings a better version of themselves and to become resolute and steadfast in making this world a better place to live in and to carry on the legacy of the divine creation- humanity.
For TSS community, every child is a repository of endless possibilities; therefore, he/she is facilitated with a synergy of academics, sports, and co-curricular activities to evolve into an adult empowered with intellect and character of the highest order. The confluence of learner-focused pedagogy and best instructional practices supports the students in championing curiosity, discipline, perseverance, and management skills to evolve into self- motivated and self-directed learners, innovators, leaders, and guardians of national and international harmony.
The Sagar School takes pride in the thriving partnership between the school and the parents in the realisation of their shared platonic vision of designing and executing the itinerary of the journey of Sagarians, traversing the terrains of known to unknown, of doubt to dare, of explore to experience, while rooted in time-tested knowledge and wisdom.
