The assessment at The Sagar School is anchored in the principle and practice of ‘Assessment for Learning, Assessment of Learning and Assessment as Learning’ as it generates constructive and evidence-based feedback for the students and the teachers to lay out the next pedagogical plan of action.
Formative assessments like -
Learner-centric classroom discussions and tests, and attempting projects with a self-directed approach under the mentors, enhances the understanding and performance of a child during the ongoing pedagogical engagement. Self-assessing virtual assignments, and employing marks and grades as tools by students to identify for themselves the most appropriate competency-based model to navigate learning empower them to become independent and self-motivated learners. Measuring of learning outcomes in Mid-term and Year-end examinations provide a concrete picture of what the learners have achieved against the predefined expected standards.
The Formative assessment and Summative assessments complemented by Internal Assessments give regular insights into the holistic growth and learning gaps of a child throughout an academic session. The regular class tests cater to the realisation of short-term goals that lay the foundation of the long-term goal of academic and co-curricular excellence.
